Welcome to the latest update from Outgrow! We are eager to introduce Live Content Hosting, a dynamic new feature designed to transform how you engage with your audience during assessments and polls. This feature allows moderators to host real-time interactive sessions, boosting engagement and enhancing participant interaction.
What is Live Content Hosting?
Live Content Hosting is a creative feature that enables you to moderate assessments and polls interactively. This tool actively engages your audience by providing live updates, real-time rankings, and smooth session management. Here’s what you can expect:
- Real-Time Moderation: As a moderator, you will have full control over the session flow, questions, and even timing. You can engage your audience like never before!
- Competitive Edge: Show real-time participant rankings at the end of each session to add excitement and foster a competitive spirit among participants.
Important Notes to Consider
Before diving into the Live Content Hosting feature, please note:
- Content Compatibility: This functionality is exclusively available for Graded Assessments and Polls. Please ensure you are not using the Card Style layout for these content types.
- Session Control: Moderators can manage session flow, including questions and timings, for a smoother experience.
- Real-Time Rankings– Display real-time participant rankings at the end to add a competitive edge.
Start Hosting Live Content Now!
Here’s a step-by-step guide to set up Live Content Hosting in Outgrow:
1. First, start by logging into your Outgrow account. Then, select either a Graded Assessment or a Poll to create. You can choose to build your content from scratch or use an existing template from our library.
2. Once your content is open in build mode, navigate to the Live Hosting tab on the left side of the navigation bar.
3. Toggle the live hosting feature on to activate it.
Important Note: Turn off the Quiz Review and Auto Progression features when creating a Quiz.
4. Once you’ve enabled the toggle, add a heading or subheading to display on the Leaderboard.
5. After setup is complete, click “Go Live & Present” to start the session.
6. As a moderator, you can edit the session name and open the presentation page on-screen. Additionally, users can join the session either by entering the session link manually or by scanning a QR code. However, they will need to input a session code to participate.
Note: The presentation page will display the Participant Count and Submission Count in real-time at the bottom.
7. Once the moderator starts the presentation, the Moderator will be able to control the journey of the participants throughout the session.
8. Once the users have gone through the content, the moderator clicks on End Session and then can click on View Analytics to access the Leaderboard Analytics.
9. The leaderboard automatically organizes participants based on their scores and rankings, providing insights into who performed best.
10. Users will see their ranking at the top, followed by scores of other participants, adding a competitive element to your session.
Note: Late joiners can participate from their entry point, but they’ll miss earlier questions that have already been answered.
Additional Feature
You can also activate the Top Respondents Per Question feature in the Live Hosting tab this will display a graph highlighting the top responders for each question.
